We cannot avoid some parts of the machine to fail. In this article, we are going to show you how to reuse your license in case some of the components are broken that renders the machine unusable.

Possible scenarios:

1. Broken SD card

Buy new sd card. Revoke license. Then reactivate the license in new sd card with same rpi.

2. Broken Raspberry Pi

Buy new RPI. Revoke license. Then reactivate the license in new RPI with same sd card.

3. Broken Raspberry Pi and SD card

Buy new RPI and SD card. Revoke license. Then reactivate the license in the new components.

4. Software error (old versions less than 3.0.62)

Reflash new software image from website. Revoke license. Then reactivate license, same sd card, same rpi.

5. Software error (new versions starting 3.0.62)

Reflash new software image from website. The license will automatically reactivate. Same sd card, same rpi. DO NOT REVOKE LICENSE in this case.

6. USB flash drive is broken (new versions starting 3.0.62)

If you are booting from USB, buy new USB flash drive. Reflash new software image from website. The license will automatically reactivate. DO NOT REVOKE LICENSE in this case.

NOTE: If you accidentally revoked your license with software version starting 3.0.62 (and above) and you get an error “Machine is already revoked.”, you will need to change/swap the SD card to be able to activate license again on that machine.
